The Challenge
A leading manufacturer of commercial equipment needed to ensure that every finished product met stringent performance and quality standards before packaging and dispatch.
Each product underwent testing on an automated conveyor line, where critical parameters such as electrical performance, operating temperature and energy consumption were measured.
However, acceptable testing ranges varied with ambient temperature, making quality evaluation more complex than comparing readings against fixed limits.
The manufacturer needed an integrated solution to capture test data, automatically evaluate product quality and ensure that only approved products progressed to packaging.
The EasyCloud Solution
EasyCloud integrated the production-line testing equipment with the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), creating an automated quality verification process.
1. Automated Test Data Capture
Every manufactured product passes through the testing facility, where electrical, temperature and energy-consumption parameters are measured. The test equipment transfers these readings directly to the MES.
2. Intelligent Pass/Fail Evaluation
The MES evaluates the readings against predefined quality criteria. The evaluation accounts for changes in ambient temperature, automatically adjusting acceptable parameter ranges.
Each result is associated with the product's unique serial number, enabling individual product-level quality verification.
3. Automated Packaging Control
The MES authorises printing of the packaging label only when the product passes the required tests.
If a product fails, the label is not printed, preventing it from progressing through the normal packaging process without the required quality approval.
How the Integrated Process Works
Product on Conveyor → Automated Testing → MES Evaluation → Pass/Fail Decision → Packaging Label (Pass Only)
Every test result is linked to the corresponding product serial number.
